Our Vision

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur-DoST (Directorate of Sustainable Tourism) is an upshot of an apparition and vision of the Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, the Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

‘The Directorate has been established with an aspiration to be recognized as the cornerstone of development of sustainable tourism in the region and across the country. Foremost in any public sector university, it shall be acknowledged internationally and in Pakistan as premier in creating awareness in the field of hospitality and tourism and henceforth implement the establish standards as per set yardsticks to make Pakistan amongst the top destinations of the world.’

The Vission

IUB-DoST Travel & Tours

IUB-DoST will obtain Tour Operator license from concerned authorities to organize tours for potential local & international tourists which will include city tour, visit to palaces/forts and dessert safari deep in Cholistan Desert. A company by the name ‘IUB-DoST Travel & Tours’ to promote Bahawalpur region and facilitate national & international tourists in order to create profitable income opportunity for the university. IUB students will have the practical opportunity to get involved in this business as in-service training and hence no workforce shall be required.

IUB-DoST will also obtain Tourist Guide license from Department of Tourist Services, Islamabad; to grant the status of Tourist Guide to prospective IUB’s tourism & hospitality students for the purpose of exposure & experience.
